Many women experience changes to their intimate health after childbirth, surgery, or menopause. These may include vaginal laxity, dryness, urinary incontinence, or discomfort that affects quality of life and confidence.
At HEMAC Aesthetic & Skin Clinic in Melbourne, our female doctor provides confidential consultations to discuss these concerns.
What about “vaginal tightening” treatments?
Energy-based devices (such as lasers, radiofrequency, and ultrasound) have been explored worldwide for concerns such as vaginal laxity, dryness, and urinary symptoms. However, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) in Australia does not currently approve these devices for vaginal tightening or rejuvenation purposes, as there is insufficient evidence to confirm their safety and effectiveness.
Our approach
- Careful medical assessment of your symptoms and history.
- Discussion of evidence-based management options, which may include referral to gynaecologists, pelvic floor specialists, or hormone therapy where appropriate.
- Supportive, private, and women-centred care.
If you are seeking advice about intimate health concerns, we invite you to book a confidential consultation with our female doctor.
