Guarding Your Health: Comprehensive Vaccination Services at Hawthorn East Medical Clinic (HEMAC)
At HEMAC, we prioritise the health and well-being of children by offering a comprehensive range of childhood vaccinations, all of which are provided free of charge to holders of Medicare cards. Our dedicated team of Practice Nurses are highly trained and immunisation accredited providers, ensuring that they are equipped with the knowledge and expertise to deliver vaccinations safely and effectively.
We understand the importance of staying up-to-date with the evolving pediatric vaccination schedule, which is why our Practice Nurses continually attend update courses to stay informed about any changes or advancements in immunisation protocols. This commitment to ongoing education ensures that we provide the most current and evidence-based vaccination services to our young patients.
For newborns, vaccinations against Hepatitis B are administered at the hospital on the day of their birth. Subsequent doses are then administered at 6 weeks, 4 months, and 6 months of age, followed by additional vaccinations at 12 months, 18 months, and 4 years of age. By following this vaccination schedule, we help protect infants from a range of serious and potentially life-threatening diseases.
Adolescents also benefit from our vaccination services, primarily receiving vaccinations through school-based programs. However, we also offer catch-up vaccinations at our surgery for those who may have missed or require additional doses. This ensures that adolescents receive the necessary immunisations to safeguard their health as they transition into adulthood.
At HEMAC, we are committed to promoting the health and well-being of children and adolescents through comprehensive vaccination services. By providing access to free childhood vaccinations, staying updated on vaccination schedules, and offering catch-up vaccinations, we strive to protect our young patients and contribute to the overall health of our community.
